Annual Events
The Ali Forney Center hosts various special events throughout the year to raise funds and awareness. We’re committed to spending less than 5% of our revenue on creating these special events to raise funds and awareness for our mission. Join us in making a difference for homeless LGBTQ+ youth by taking part in one of these fun events.
Oasis
OASIS is our annual summer benefit, which has been running for more than ten years. As the largest LGBTQ+ summer cocktail party in NYC outside of Pride, more than a thousand people come out to support AFC. Enjoy cocktails, auctions, and live entertainment by RuPaul’s Drag Race superstars. Past entertainers include Parker Posey, Alaska, Detox, the cast of HBO’s “Looking”, and more.
I Put a Spell on You
The Black Flame Candle will be lit once more, summoning the Sanderson sisters back from the grave for Jay Armstrong Johnson’s annual Halloween concert-meets-party, I Put a Spell on You: ALIVE at Sony Hall.
The spooky and spine-tingling event will take place on October 23, 2023, benefiting the Ali Forney Center.
SERVE
The Ali Forney Center is thrilled to introduce SERVE, a dance-a-thon to fight food insecurity for homeless LGBTQ+ youth. SERVE is bringing together the worlds of food, nightlife, dancing, and music all day on November 12th, 2023 to raise critical funds for our year-round meal program.
Team up, raise funds, and put on your dancing shoes! We promise a full day of meaningful experiences, notable entertainment, and most of all -- as much dancing as possible!
The holiday season can feel especially lonely for many, join us as a chosen family so we can be sure LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness have celebratory and nourishing meals -- on Thanksgiving and every day year-round.
