AFC Amazon Wishlist

Purchasing an item from our Amazon wishlist is a great way to directly help homeless LGBTQ+ youth. All purchased items go directly to a young person who is in immediate need. From basic necessities like socks and underwear to helpful tools like GED testing books, professional clothing, or housewares, your gift will help a vulnerable youth survive and thrive.

AFC Transgender Amazon Wishlist

Why is there a separate wishlist for transgender clients? Many people are unaware that the kinds of items found on this list are necessities for transgender people. Items that may be luxuries or unfamiliar to cisgender people can be essential to trans people's self-perception or to aid in being gendered correctly in school, work, job interviews, or out in the world.

Ali Pride

In recognition of the community that sustains our mission, we are incredibly grateful for the philanthropists who make up Ali Forney Center’s Major Giving Program, Ali Pride.

Clothing Donations

AFC does not accept used clothing donations, but we are happy to accept new items from our Amazon wishlist.

Studies have found that LGBTQ+ youth comprise up to 40% of the homeless youth population in New York City. LGBTQ+ street youth experience greater levels of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking violence, trauma, HIV infection, mental health issues, and substance abuse than their non-LGBTQ+ and cisgender counterparts in the homeless youth population.
