This year, we are intentionally evolving OASIS from a traditional summer party into something deeper: a gathering centered around community.
Over the past year, we’ve heard something powerful from our donors, supporters, and longtime friends of the Ali Forney Center: People are craving connection.
Again and again, supporters shared that one of the most meaningful parts of AFC events wasn’t just the program or entertainment. It was seeing old friends. Meeting new people. Feeling part of something bigger.
One donor followed up after our gala to share that an Emerging Leaders Council member introduced themselves during the evening, and that interaction became the highlight of the night. That moment reinforced something important: People need people.
And that is exactly why the Emerging Leaders Council matters. You are not just helping host an event. You are helping create community.
